login?

Postby 003402 » 02 Feb 2014, 01:05

Hi, new user to Rune Audio. I successfully downloaded the files on the SD card and was able to boot up the software, but I am presented with a login screen.

After reading the documentation, i understand there is a login to get to the advanced portion of setting, etc., but I was expecting it to just start up (like the instructions I read.) I don't know linux and really most of the advanced stuff is over my head.

Can anyone help? I looked all over and just don't see anything about setting up a login for the first time.

Thanks

From what I understand it seems you are trying to access it through monitor+keyboard connected to your Raspberry Pi, aren't you? You don't need to do it, as RuneAudio turns your device in an headless player that can be remote controlled.
Please follow the instructions on how to access the integrated webui (RuneUI):
http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/#Player-setup
You only have to point your favorite web browser to the ip of your Raspberry Pi.

I want to manually add new web radios, following the description detailed here : adding-webradios-by-writing-files-pls-m3u-into-a-directory-t439.html

So I need to have the default credentials to login into my runeaudio to add all .pls inside the /mnt/MPB/Webradio directory

What are they? (I intend to use SSH of course)

Hi jmparis,

sometimes reading the docs is helpful:

Thanks!
I wasn't far, I've tried by myself 'root' and 'runeaudio' as password :)

That's unfortunate that I've read all forum posts, but not the quick guide :D

Hi Frank,
I got a waveshare 3.5 display working following the forum instructions (waveshare-spotspear-3-5-touch-screen-working-with-rune-t3859.html) but after boot the login is required.
What to do to see the screen of runeaudio instead?

I am using RPi 2B.
Thanks,
clarindo

Nothing see here

If you only get the login prompt you are on the wrong framebuffer.

Sorry, but it is the same way... I've reread and checked all the instructions but after boot the login keep been required.

In /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-fbturbo.conf, I change
Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb0" to "fbdev" "/dev/fb1"

and nothing different happened...
Maybe I need to configure anything else to skip the login and run runeaudio. I want to see in my tft display the screen like I can see in browser when I access remotely.

Any tips?

Hi clarindo,

the "local browser" option on the settings page is enabled?

What is the output from:
Code: Select all
ls -l /dev/fb*

Yes, local browser is enabled and the result of the command is:

[root@runeaudio ~]# ls -l /dev/fb*
crw-rw---- 1 root video 29, 0 Feb 22 2016 /dev/fb0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 29, 1 Feb 22 2016 /dev/fb1

As I wrote before, I've changed /dev/fb0 to /dev/fb1.
