Cannot connect via Wifi

Postby so_la_la » 19 Nov 2014, 23:32

Hi,
I managed to use RuneAudio with a LAN connection to my NAS.
Now I have an Edimax Wifi Dongle.
I configured my Fritzbox connection under http://runeaudio/network/ and it worked (ticked green).
I am unable to connect via Wifi; however on plugging in the ethernet I can also see the blue controller light of the wifi dongle alight and blinking.
Then, under http://runeaudio/network/, I also see both connections enabled. When I plug out the ethernet the connection terminates.

Either the Wifi Dongle is really slow to start up
Or it only works once LAN is enabled.
Either way this is not a good solution!
What can I do?
Thank you!

Oh and one more thing:
Plugging in the LAN wire means I have to rescan/update the library though nothing has changed, which takes quite a long time. Obviously every device is automatically unmounted once the LAN wire is removed. Is there anyway to circumvent this behaviour?

EDIT: After a while the WLAN seems to work... yeah!
EDIT EDIT: it's playing but it's not accessible on my browser...

Oh, and cover art + volume control seems to go missing for some reason... it's no longer there in the interface.

I experience similar behavior.
Works properly when connected via wired ethernet.
I can define wlan connection via web interface and I can connect to either via ssh.

cannot connect via browser interfface http://runeaudio when I reboot via wireless only, yet I can ssh into system. (it is up, running with static IP, wlan0)
when I launch web interface via http://<ipaddress> it launches, but shows CONNECTING....

I had the same issue. You need to modify the wpa_supplicant.conf file in /etc/wpa_supplicant and add your WiFi information in there. All I added was the following:

network={
ssid="<your WLAN SSID>"
psk=<your WLAN password
}

That's all. After a reboot you should be able to access the rune web interface.

Cheers,

the same can be put into the file for netctl located in /etc/netctl/wlan0 if you dont wish to use wpa_supplicant

Hi hondagx35,

Thank you for your time and answer.

What do your mean by "fresh image" ?
Is this the latest image : https://sourceforge.net/projects/runeau ... z/download
Or is there an other one ?

I will definetly update to the night builds.

Thx again.
