RaspyPlay4

Postby vestli » 07 Dec 2017, 12:25

Dear All,

I am having trouble enabling RaspyPlay4 for Rune Audio player. In which config files do I have to make which modification so that it appears as a DAC in RuneAudio.

Kind regards

Hi vestli,
Some things depend on the image which you are using. Please post your debug and/or specify the Pi type, lunix version and build if you need more help.
For what to do see here: http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/ ... t-settings. This file can also be edited when the SD card is plugged into a PC. On Windows you will find config.txt in the root directory, on a mac it is in the first partition in the directory /boot.
For the RaspyPlay4 see the solution posted here: raspyplay4-hw-volume-not-working-fix-t3121.html
It is possible that it is even simpler than described above. The RaspyPlay4 has a PCM5122 chipset, this is the same as several other dac's. You could try any one of the following first:
Code: Select all
dtoverlay=allo-piano-dac-pcm512x-audio
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus
dtoverlay=justboom-dac

Thanks I finally got around to test.

I first tried: raspyplay4-hw-volume-not-working-fix-t3121.html

I could then select the appropriate audio interface on the MPD page. I could even play music. However the volume was not working (and it was VERY loud with my active speakers).

Then I the changed /boot/config.txt to look like:

# Uncomment one of these lines to enable an audio interface
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-amp
#dtoverlay=iqaudio-dac
#dtoverlay=iqaudio-dacplus

But then I cannot select anything but RaspberryPi Analog Out and RaspberryPi HDMI Out.

When logging in I get the following:
ssh root@192.168.0.125
root@192.168.0.125's password:
=============== RuneOS distribution ===============

| _ <| |_| | | | | __// ___ \ |_| | (_| | | (_) |

================ www.runeaudio.com ================
RuneOs: 0.3-beta
RuneUI: 1.3-beta
Hw-env: RaspberryPi 2

However, the hardware should be Pi 3 Model B.

Kind regards

Hi Sjur,

please try my latest test image from here and select the Hifiberry DAC+ from the settings page.

However, the hardware should be Pi 3 Model B.

Nothing to worry about Pi2 and Pi3 are treated as the same platform.
