In my case my network runs off of an ArchLinux server, with the RAS on a segment served by interface eth1, and the app/phone on a network segment served by interface wlan0. To repeat MDNS between the two, I downloaded the mdns-repeater source and compiled it, installed the executable and added it to systemd as a service linking the two segments by their interfaces:
- Code: Select all
mdns-repeater eth1 wlan0
app/phone now find the RAS
Hope this helps!
I have a freeNAS server which all my media on, and am using RuneAudio on my pi3 b. Putting the Pi 3 on a wifi network , Runeaudio plays great to a connected speaker,
I have also downloaded the rune app for both an android tablet running 4.4 android, and also my android phone, which is on android 5.0.1, and neither devices can find the player. What is the player, is it the pi 3b which is running runeaudio or is it something else.
Also both phone and tablet have an excellent wifi connection in my home and have used other apps to play music from anywhere in the house.
Where will I find the
- Code: Select all
mdns-repeater eth1 wlan0
Thanks
