Mounting encrypted volumes

Postby wildzer0 » 12 Sep 2014, 00:50

Using version 0.3 beta on my Pi. I've attached an encrypted USB hard drive, but I can't seem to mount it. It looks the kernel is missing the DM_CRYPT module?

Error message:

Code: Select all
[root@runeaudio ~]# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda store
Enter passphrase for /dev/sda:
device-mapper: reload ioctl on temporary-cryptsetup-900 failed: Invalid argument
Failed to setup dm-crypt key mapping for device /dev/sda.
Check that kernel supports aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 cipher (check syslog for more info).

Code: Select all
[79625.908619] device-mapper: table: 254:0: crypt: unknown target type
[79625.908653] device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table

Code: Select all
[root@runeaudio ~]# zcat /proc/config.gz | grep -i dm_crypt
# CONFIG_DM_CRYPT is not set

For me it does not look like the most important thing to have an encrypted music library.

I agree with Midnight, why on earth would you want that extra overhead for just Music?!?!
