Hi all,
this DAC needs a special driver on the Raspberry Pi.
You can try to install it:
* get access to the console (ssh)
*
check the free space on your sd card (<=85%). If not resize your partition (see documentation)
* update the kernel and firmware (this is needed to get the EDIMAX dongle working and doesn't hurt anyway)
pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware-bootloader linux-raspberrypi
* delete the file /etc/modules-load.d/ras....conf
* reboot
* get the installation files and extract them (search for sabreberry32.tar)
wget http://www..........Sabreberry32.tar
tar -xf Sabreberry32.tar
* make the install script executable
cd Sabreberry32
chmod +x sabre32_install.sh
* run the script
./sabre32_install.sh
You can ignore the warnings
* enable the DAC in /boot/config.txt
dtparam=i2c_arm=on
#dtparam=i2c_vc=on
#dtparam=i2s=on
#dtparam=spi=on
#dtparam=act_led_trigger=mmc
#dtdebug=on
#dtparam=uart1=off
#dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt-overlay
# Uncomment one of these lines to enable an audio interface
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi
#dtoverlay=hifiberry-amp
#dtoverlay=iqaudio-dac
#dtoverlay=iqaudio-dacplus
#the sabreberry32 also needs dtparam=i2c_arm=on to be enabled
dtoverlay=sabreberry32
dtparam=audio=on
* reboot
I hope this works.
Frank
EDIT (16.11.16):
- removed the driver from download page, because of unclear license.
- Get access to the console:
Use SSH from your PC
- If you are not familiar with SSH read this for Windows or this for Linux/MacOS
The default login for RuneAudio is "root" with the password "rune" (without quotes).
