Updating Raspian (pi OS) lost Pi ip address

Hi foxint,

how did get Rune running the first time?

I am sure you had to download the image from our server and flash it to the sd card, right?
Why should it be different this time?

- get a fresh sd card
- download the file from my link
- unzip the downloaded file (you should get a *.img file)
- flash it to the sd card
- insert the card and boot your Pi
- ....

I will give it a try...took me weeks...I vaguely remember I had to use my daughter’s old pc and do something with the card. It was not an easy thing.

I just got an email from the Pi2Media guy.

• He did not mention how to get the device to work…but
• He said I should disable the Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth

I have pi3 and did not know it had either of these.

How does one disable these?? As I understand the pi has your software now??

Hi Guys

Back with some good news and the usual bad news.

I have all sorts of issues...basically there is no noise.

In setting....Frank said select: HiFi Berry Digi + Pro....there is no option exactly like this only: HifiBerry Digi Pro. Yes I tied this...Nothing.

I cannot find any other stuff for the Digi + pro. I am only getting on MPD (not sure what this is).... Analog out and HDMI.

I am using optical...that's all I ahve and it worked with the Digi +...but not with the Pi2 DAC Pro.

Sorry...but are they any step-by-step with pictures...yes I need pictures...But I think it (yes me guessing) may be the RuneOS kernal setting...sorry I am stuck again...

Hi foxint,

did you reboot after setting the I2S driver?

And for the very last time:
No debug information => no support!

Select the driver on the settings page, reboot and send the debug info.

What about the difference between:

• HiFiBerry Digi + Pro and
• HiFiBerry Digi Pro without the “+”

But you are able to read, right?

Thanks…I have Pi3 and Rune – RuneAudio_rpi2_rpi3_0.4-beta_20170220_2gb.img.gz. There is not help or about so I have no idea the version. I downloaded it as you suggested today

To get the best possible support, please specify your hardware and RuneAudio version. Collecting debug info is also suggested.

How to collect DEBUG info [since RuneAudio 0.3-alpha]

Since 0.3-alpha release we introduced an easier and more automated way to report your debug information and help us to spot bugs. These are the updated instructions to do that in the correct way:

HOW TO COLLECT AND POST DEBUG INFO

1. In the RuneUI, go to MENU > Debug;
2. Refresh the page a couple of times, waiting some seconds between every refresh
3. Click the "COPY DATA TO CLIPBOARD" button;
4. Go to http://pastebin.com and paste the debug output in the "New Paste" text area. Leave the default options (Syntax Highlighting: None, Paste Expiration: Never, Paste Exposure: Public), give a name to it (e.g. RuneAudio debug info) and submit.
5. Copy the url of the submitted Pastebin (e.g. http://pastebin.com/dL1k9irT) and include it in your post here in the forum.

There is not help or about so I have no idea the version.

But there is a button called "debug" on the menu!

Not sure what information you need. How do I get it and what do you need??

Is it really that hard to click on the link I pointed to (yellow arrow on the picture)?

I have no idea, read the manual or ask the manufacturer.

- Are there any LEDs on the board?
- do they light up?
- the board has two power options. Is jumper W1 installed?

• I read the manufactures manual – it gave no instruction
• There are 4 lights on the board:
• 1 is the network light – on
• 3 other lights next to the ¼ inch out and the bottom green light is on

• I have plugged my optical cable into the board.

• The manual just said it would work.

Jumper W1…not sure what that is…There is a jumper (a small cover) that is over 2 pins, that I think changes it from taking power from the pi or an external power supply. I have changed nothing about the board. It is as it came. I just put it in the plastic case.

Sorry…but I have no idea what I have done.

Please double check the version.
Is it a Pi2Media 502DAC PRO or the normal one without PRO?

You can try to disable bluetooth.

dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt-overlay

Put your sd card back into your Windows PC.
Navigate to /boot/config.txt and edit this file with a text editor.
Remove the "#" in front of "#dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt-overlay".
Save the file and put it back into your Pi.

Not sure why…it took a while. Perhaps I needed the Pro???

Why is my Dac not being recognised? It is the same Dac that was plugged into the HiFiBerry Digi with Optical cable.

“can you disable blue tooth” …No I have no idea how.

Michael from Pi2 said it would be best to disable blue tooth and wi-fi…but both are way beyond my capabilities.

Do you have a screen shot??

Thank you all again for your help. As I said I like the software, but never could enjoy its full potential. But I keep plugging away when I get the enthusiasm

So sorry. I got it wrong. I did not realise what I had…also I did not realise that it would not work. My apologies for my mistake. The whole pi-thing is very confusing. I know it is second nature to some, but for me. it is a mine field.

If I may ask????

What are the other settings on the other pages I need to fix/change.

I am not sure what any of them should be. Now all I can hear is the radio…my flac/music files are somewhere on the network… (I have never been able to get this right – I gave up last time as it was too confusing)

Hope being a novice is still Ok to ask questions. Apologise for the bug thing…it just went pear shaped.
