taizen wroteHi,
I have problems with usb output. More the track is hi res, more There are clicks and pops. At 192 it is "horrible" with runeaudio on raspberry b+, even i increase buffer, or any change. For information, with my udoo with archphile, i have no problems of quality.
Can you fix this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Taizen, what DAC are you using? Do you mean playing music from an external USB disk, or rather using a USB DAC with remote mounting of the music? From my own testing of the 0.3beta, if there are problems with playing hi-rez files (up to 192khz),
then either of these three changes help when using a local USB disk:
1. Try an external USB that spins at 7200 rpm (rather than the more common 5400 rpm) - I used the GDrives,
1 TB @ 7200 rpm at a reasonable price (< 100) - and then power it from an *external* usb hub, not the B+.
2. Use an external USB SSD drive, power it externally. (Too expensive now for 1 TB I guess, but OK for 256MB....)
3. Use a non-USB DAC (one of the I2S cards, or the Wolfson, e.g.)
Choices 1 & 3 together work very well, for me. I have tried every I2S card and the Wolfson, they all do fine.
YMMV, but I've had zero clicks/pops/etc. with these choices. Buffer size set to 4096 on the player size. Many, many HD tracks played w/o issues.
Listening right now, in fact, to the Anne-Akiko-Meyers Vivaldi from HDTracks. Astonishing.
