Only a problem: after a reboot the device need to retype the OpenVPN connection command.....how to resolve it ?

please read again what i have linked to.

systemd service configuration

To start OpenVPN automatically at system boot, either for a client or for a server, enable openvpn@<configuration>.service on the applicable machine.

For example, if the client configuration file is /etc/openvpn/client.conf, the service name is openvpn@client.service. Or, if the server configuration file is /etc/openvpn/server.conf, the service name is openvpn@server.service.

Yes, I thank You, Frank, but if I type (on /etc/openvpn):

openvpn --config client1.ovpn

the client connect to server (client1.ovpn is the name of .conf file) but at reboot of the device I must to remake this action.

Instead if I type:

openvpn@client1.service

the output is:

-bash: openvpn@client1.service: command not found

and the client never connect to the server......

i really like to help but you also have to do a bit homework.

RuneAudio is based on ArchLinux which uses systemd to start services at boot.

starting a service:

systemctl start openvpn@client1.service

checking the state:

systemctl status openvpn@client1.service

enabling at boot:

systemctl enable openvpn@client1.service

Then, surely I have installed OpenVPN in an UNUSUAL way on this Runeaudio client.

But it works and is reached (hi) ....

please do not use rc-local on RuneAudio (ArchLinux).

- save / rename your config file as /etc/openvpn/client1.conf
- execute

systemctl start openvpn@client1.service

- if this works then

systemctl enable openvpn@client1.service
