Spotify does not react [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I have a RPi2 with RA latest version. For a while I was running Spotify through it and everything worked fine. But since two days I cannot get it to work anymore. Whenever I click on the >Spotify< button in the library, literally nothing happens. I already checked if it has anything to do with my account. I have a Spotify premium account and streaming works through their page (play.spotify.com). So this is not the reason. Also I have turned off and turned on the Spotify player in Settings/Feature management but this did nothing as well. Still I cannot run Spoity with the RuneAudio UI. What happened ? Any clues ?

Hi Felix,

please get access to console and check

cat /var/log/runeaudio/spopd.log

for errors.

You also can check the journal for errors:

Use SSH from your PC

If you are not familiar with SSH read this for Windows or this for Linux/MacOS
The default login for RuneAudio is "root" with the password "rune" (without quotes).

I did as you told. There is no spopd.log file in /var/log/runeaudio nor elsewhere. The content of /var/log/runeaudio is

systemd[1]: spotify-connect.service failed.

This is not the stock spotify (spopd)!
You played with spotify-connect, right?

just recently I installed spotify-connect to solve my problem. This also didn't work. It seems that the error which I posted is not related to the Spotify daemon (spopd) of Runeaudio. I actually don't need Spotify-connect and would be happy to run Spotify through Runeaudio. Can you help with that ?

Unfortunately I still have not solved my problem, which is getting the spotify daemon to work under Runeaudio (spopd). Again this is what happend:

Everything worked fine until two days. Before when I clicked on >Spotify< in the library a dialog appeared and I could change between the MPD and Spotify daemon. Now since two days nothing happens when I click on the >Spotify< button.

This is what I have tried:

reboot
turn off and turn on Spotify in Settings/Features management
use another premium spotify account
reinstall Runeaudio

Nothing helped so far. I am really desperate and don't understand what is going on. Please help.

I just did the same and it works like it should.
With the latest image for the RP2 you should get a log file like i told you before.
Please check again and also clear your browsers cache.

this is an old issue with spopd.
It should be fixed long time ago see here.

Is it really the latest version from here?

so I reinstalled the image. It did not work

This is what I do after a fresh install:

I go to Menu/Settings/Features management. I click on the Spotify knob. I enter my username and password. I hit enter. I reboot. Then after the reboot I click on >Spotify< in the library. Nothing happens.

There is no spopd.log file in /var/log/runeaudio nor elsewhere.

Secondly I found that nothing happens when I go to Menu/Turn off and then click on Reboot or Power off. So I did the reboot through a shell.

What is going on ?

This is strange and shouldn't happen at all.

- browser?
- version?
- operating system?
- connected with IP or "runeaudio"?
- a second runeaudio device on your network?

My browser is Firefox 45.0. I am running Linux Mint 17.3 with kernel 3.19.0-32-generic. I connect to the RP by entering the local IP adress into the browser.I have no second device in my network.

Is that all ?

I FOUND IT!!!! There is a problem with the addons. I disabled all addons. Now everything works as expected: Reboot, poweroff and also Spotify!! I am really excited.

Thanks again a million for your support! I really appreciate it. I don't know if that helps you but I will donate to the Runeaudio project.

Hi Frank,

it was Adblock Plus 2.7.2. But you can disable it only for the IP of the Raspberry and everything works. So you don't need to do it globally.
