Hi Frank,

I rewrite image and connect C2 to ODROID VU7
Touch function seems work again although response is not so good.

So I believe touch function of ODROID VU7 and WaveShare 7" IPS may different.

For Pi2, I played dsd many times. The setting is DSD enabled.

For C2, the DSD setting has 2 options but I selected "DSD (native)".

Besides of those, no idea much.

Let me try but this option is only DSD affective while playing 16/44.1 is also very distorted and noisy. No issue at all with 24/192. Tks.

Hi all,

native DSD does not work with all USB DACs.

XMOS based USB DACs and converters can support native DSD playback using a 32-bit sample format. DACs that support this feature expose it using a Alternate Setting on the USB interface.

On Windows systems this feature can be used with a ASIO 2.1/2.2 driver from the DAC manufacturer.

I have added a new DSD sample format to ALSA and the Linux kernel (DSD_U32_LE) to support it on Linux and added the needed quirks to support it for a few XMOS based USB DACs/boards.

Currently native DSD playback on Linux is supported for the following XMOS based DACs/USB converters:

- iFi Audio micro iDSD [max DSD512]
- iFi Audio nano iDSD [max DSD256, with latest 4.04 firmware]
- DIYINHK USB to I2S/DSD converter [max DSD128]

Check if you have a supported device

Currently devices with USB ID 20b1:3008 and USB ID 20b1:2009 are supported. This are devices from iFi Audio/AMR and DIYINHK. If you think you have a (XMOS based) DAC device or converter that should support native DSD playback please contact me.

To check if your device is supported, or at least XMOS based(1), use the following command:

lsusb -d 20b1:

For the iFi Audio nano and micro iDSD it reports: Bus 003 Device 004: ID 20b1:3008 XMOS Ltd (please note: Bus and Device numbers may vary).

(1) Some manufacturers may use the XMOS chip with their own vendor id instead of XMOS.

The sound quality of Runeaudio is really good and I just recommended few guys to order the C2 in this weekend

Hi Frank
I thought I would briefly feedback on the C2/Runeaudio combination.
Have tried combinations:
Sources: USB SSD/Synology NAS
Power: LPS to C2 feeding USB DACs, plus also tried separate power to DACs
DACS: little i2s 5102A board; Douk Audio XMOS 384K/32bit DSD/PCM USB DAC; Musical Fidelity M1 Clic as USB DAC
Overall the operation is smooth and quick. The menus\library work fine. No crashes.
The problems for DSD are:
- DSD native is just white noise for Douk [presumably not compatible, as per previous posts]
- DoP is ok with Douk, but sound actually not great in my view.
- if no DSD activated, on the fly play of dff files ok but occasional pops etc.
Also, on very careful listening of FLAC 24/96 there is also pop occasional crackle at very consistent points in the track [I mainly used George Ezra. "did you hear the rain" as there is a lot of silence for comparing above combinations]. This seems to be down to the C2 as a source, rather than any DAC. The same track\source played via the Clic as a music server is fine. I think it was ok with my RPi b+ running different player as well.
Not expecting any kind of comment/advice. It was all a bit of an experiment really. Just feeding back.

From remote access via ssh I can read the micro SD but it was impossible if inserting it into laptop to access directly, notification is "the card is not formatted". How's about your case?

I downloaded the Rune img (twice), flash it on SD card (twice), RuneUI does not response for some reason, i see just "connecting" sign on the screen and nothing more. SSH works with no problem. I'm tried to clear browser cache (with no luck). Any help would be appreciated.

I use Chrome 50.0.2661.102 on Windows 10 PC. I found the solution! Kaspersky blocked RuneUI for some reason. It is strange, because Volumio, installed on this particular Odroid, works fine, but i want to use RuneAudio =) I will doublecheck Kaspersky settings later. Anyway, thanks for you help. Keep up your hard work!

I wrote the image many times to micro SD card, playing only 16/44.1 unsuccessfully. The audio out is very distorted and noisy.

Thanks to review for me if there is any issue?
I am using USB DAC SMSL M8, powered by an external supply.

I am quite curious what happening since I played on the Pi 2 without any issue.
I installed Ubuntu MATE on C2, installed additionally Audacious that it played very nice sound but surely I dont want it rather Rune.

I had 3 friends living from 3 different locations that they had the same issue?!
