I gave this a go last night and it looks very promising however touch is not working on my touch screen. I think I got a bad one as I have tried reseating the touch cable several times with no luck.

While I wait for a new touch screen could someone let me know if this image dims/turns off the screen during long periods of inactivity.

Hi morias,

if this image dims/turns off the screen during long periods of inactivity.

It should not, because screensaver and power saving is turned off.

Hi Frank, could that be an option as I tend to leave mine on 24/7. If I am playing something I would want the screen on but if it is not playing and inactive for 10 minutes it could turn off the screen to avoid burn in and brightness at night.

hi morias,

try this :

Adjust the code in /root/.xinitrc

Code: Select all
xset -dpms

to

Code: Select all
xset dpms 0 0 600

It will shut down the display after 10 minutes of inactivity. It will switch back on immediately when touching the display.

I found another screen despite the main stockists in Australia being out of stock until after Christmas and have got it all working. Thanks for the image Frank.

Based on your earlier post, are you working on an updated image?

Hello Frank,

I´m using runeaudio for quite a while now, but the possibility to use it as a standalone with the touch diplay really takes it to a higher level! Great job, thank you very much for that!!

So far I just played around a bit. It works really well!

Here something I fell over:
- Sometimes the buttons for stop, play, next... do not work properly. You have to push them several times although the color changes at the first touch, so the touch seems to be recognized.
- The same for the bottom buttons "Library", "Playback" and "Queue"
- Maybe I don´t hit them right. Does the Raspberry 7" touch display has to be calibrated? I didn´t get it to work. Trying to launch xinput_calibrator says "Unable to connect to X server" What am I doing wrong?
- The time elapsed display in the playback view says always 00:00 although the circle around it moves on.

That´s it so far...
Best Regards
Carsten

Hi Perjan, I am finding that after I run Rune for a while I can't get the screen to come back to life. The player is still working and can be accessed by another computer through the web browser but the local touch screen will not reactivate.

Not sure if this has happened to you and whether you have a fix.
