Two nice features?

Two features I would like to see, if not already included in your current UI:

1) Direct album and/or track "play" function that does not require you to add them to a playlist first.

2) Shuffle play function with selectable scope (i.e., by artist, genre, or other tag, or from complete library)

Hi chromisdesigns,

1) by MPD's design, everything has to be added to the playback queue (called "Playlist" in the actual UI) to be reproduced. So the closer feature to your need is "Add and play" from the context menu of the Database entries.
