Since I have had no replies to my post

runeaudio-0-3-beta-for-raspberry-pi-t502-180.html#p3382

I'm "reposting" it here. I went to Runeaudio because I read that the real programmers are here and not at volumio. However Volumio works out of the box. Runeaudio not.

Also I would like to suggest that in this forum difference shades of black are used between different posts. As this is the hardest forum to read of any I've ever visited.

Hi Triodefreak,
I saw your post back then. Sorry if I forgot to reply to it, but it was referring to a very specific/weird problem, while we were focused on fixing the main issues that emerged in the first days of testing.

I deduce from your debug info that you are using a Raspberry model B+ with a HiFiBerry DAC+. You can see many other users leaving positive feedback about the same hardware configuration, so your case is very strange - something that I don't know could have put your system in an instability conditions.

Please do a clean install and do an update following these instructions:
how-to-update-the-runeui-via-git-t547.html

What other peripherals have you connected to the Rpi?

Hi,

Software Failure. Press left mouse button to continue.

In most cases this is caused by a running winamp-starter on the client PC!

Thanks ACX,

I'll try to do what you asked tonight and report back. I have nothing else connected to the rpi.(Apart from the network cable)

Thanks Frank,

But I don't have a winamp starter on my windows 7 pc. (I think)

This link you gave: how-to-update-the-runeui-via-git-t547.html
has solved my original problem.

Now I have a problem with not being able to select my hifiberry dac+ following the steps listed in the bugfix post for that particular problem.

I have since gotten my ODAC to work with my raspberry pi and runeaudio. But still no joy with my HifiBerry Dac+

The bugfixes are cumulative, so if you have run the update you already have the latest version of the code installed and you don't need to do anything else. Just load the correct I2S kernel module in the Settings page and enjoy your HiFiBerry DAC+.
