Just applied your latest update (20200401) and my problem got worse. The Library, Playback and Playlist buttons on the bottom of the screen have disappeared and been replaced by a blue UPnP line see attached screenshot. The main screen still shows the UPnP option but in fact the only item in the playlist is a web radio item and I have UPnP turred off as I never use it.

Hi Chris,

AirPlay and UPnP
- Start play (from client devices)
    - Switch to Playback page (if not already)
    - Hide Library and Playlist tabs
    - Bottom bar icon switched to AirPlay/UPnP icon
- Stop (from either clients or Playback page)
    - Unhide Library and Playlist tabs
    - Bottom bar icon switched back to normal
Try clear playlist:
Code: Select all
mpc clear

What was the webradio URL?

Thanks, first set of commands didn't seem to do anything. I then ran the OS command:

root@runeaudio+R e3:~ # mpc clear
volume: 87% repeat: off random: off single: off consume: off
root@runeaudio+R e3:~ #

Which seemed to do the job.

The web radio site I was using was BBC Radio 2 (DASH/HLS) service via my Mininserver setup. The MinimServer setup hasn't changed for many years after following instructions on the site for RA 0.3 or 0.4 I think. The url, via Minimserver is:

http://192.168.1.70:9790/minimstreamer/*/D_R2

which translates on the Mininserver via a .m3u file to:

#EXTINF:-1,[D_R2;aac,48000] BBC Radio 2

Whoops, spoke too soon. As soon as I added the same web radio again the main screen revwerted back to the UPnP view seen earlier.

Connecting to a non MInimServer provided web radio site such as Eagle Radio at:

http://str1.sad.ukrd.com:80/eagle

seems to work OK. So is RA seeing Minimserver as a UPnP site ? If so it hasn't done this before.

I really enjoy the new RE3. Only, kinda important thing is, that I experience UpNP/Tidal is still very wonky. I can play one album or playlist and then it stops. When I try to add a new track/album/whatever, it does not play and there is an SD-card sign on the album cover in the RuneUI, which is strange. Also the UPNP-bar dissappears in this case.

Dear All

Can somebody confirm whether or not RA+Re3 supports .m3u8 files and if so can some simple instructions be provided as to what to do with these files ? These might mean that I can do away with the Mininserver which is causing me the problems previously noted above.

Thanks

I can confirm that Re3 plays the BBC m3u8 streams if that's any help. Just make sure ffmpeg is enabled.

Thanks for your confirmation re .m3u8 files. Can you tell me where to put these files and how to import them into RA ? I already have mmfpeg enabled.

Thanks

I am not quite sure what you mean. These are streams, not files, and they go in the Webradio list as a URL. I believe m3u is a form of playlist, and the stream is assembled from a series of packets. I might be wrong about that.

@rern

I notice that switch to playback on add does not work. It's OK with add and play.
