[SOLVED] Runeaudio 0.5, Pi3b+ touchscreen 5" problem layout

Postby psykoknarf » 31 May 2020, 01:00

Hi all.

I've a problem with my Touchscreen 5" from Waveshare (hdmi lcd G 800x480)

The touchscreen has been recognized on the first config without calibrating or something other stuffs.

My problem:

I can't touch the borders with the stylus. can't use the menu on up-right, can't use the bottom bar.

To try, i've installed TSLIB to calibrate the touch.

The calibration was success, but same problem is on, can't touch the border.

If i touch a corner, the pointer is 5 millimeters out, and if i touch the middle of the screen, it's ok.

If i do a "drag and drop", the pointer still have delay and don't go on the corners, and stay 5 millimeters out.

I've tryed the fonction ts_test and i can go everywhere on the screen, and the pointer go on the corners too.

I don't understand why on test, it works fine, and when i'm on the GUI can't use all the layout.

someone have an idea about that?

thanks a lot

hi again

same problem about the touchscreen from Waveshare 5'' 800x480 HDMI G usbTouch

when calibrating with TS_CALIBRATOR, and TS_TEST all ok.

When i'm on Runeaudio, always a delay with the layout (touch is out 5 milimeters on the edges of the screen)

someone have this problem too, or i?m the only one?

I just went through this, again... X11 touchscreen calibration seems to be a lost art. For whatever reason, the available X11 applets seems to be messed up somehow and has not been fixed. I had reasonable success with the adafruit app:
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-2-4-pitft-hat-with-resistive-touchscreen-mini-kit/touchscreen-install-and-calibrate#x-calibration-2859025-23

Basically you need to download xtcal and install the pre-reqs and built xtcal. I do not know how easy that will be with the 0.4b or even the 0.5b image, today.

If the image has the xinput_calibration package installed (I have no idea if it is on any of them), you can use a very nice perl script to calibrate it.
http://support.fccps.cz/download/adv/frr/matrix_calibrator/matrix_calibrator.htm. The pre-req ia perl (installed) and xinput and xinput_calibrator, I believe. This works quite well (Version 1.2) and gives a very accurate calibration for the tiny screen I am using.

To run it, ssh into the rune and verify if the pre-reqs are installed:
Code: Select all
pacman -Q | grep xinput

if it responds with something like this:
Code: Select all
xinput_calibrator 0.7.5.r88.g03dadf5-1
xorg-xinput 1.6.3-2

you are equipped with the pre-reqs
then download the script and run it:
Code: Select all
wget http://support.fccps.cz/download/adv/frr/matrix_calibrator/matrix-1.2.tgz
tar -xvf matrix-1.2.tgz
DISPLAY=:0.0 ./matrix.pl

and follow the instructions to create a calibration for the screen.

hi,

I've only one output

Code: Select all
root@vrspi(rw):~# pacman -Q | grep xinput
xorg-xinput 1.6.2-1

I've tried to install xinput_calibrator with pacman, downloading from the origine to compil it, but nothing works.

Code: Select all
 ./autogen.sh
./autogen.sh: line 9: autoreconf: command not found

how to install it without "nervosity" ?

(i prefere Debian-like, for that ;)
