Rune completely frozen and unresponsive

Postby adele » 25 Jul 2021, 15:01

Hi all,
Quite new to this - sorry ;)
While using Rune with Airplay the system froze - the two same notes started playing in a loop. We shut down Airplay, but it kept on playing the same loop. The webpage (192.168...) went unaccessible. Impossible to connect via SSH (connection timed out). No response either when we attached a screen to the Raspberry Pi. At this point I'm leaning towards unplugging the whole thing but I don't want to damage the system, however I couldn't find a clear explanation on how to safely reboot it when the system has become this much unresponsive.
Thanks for your kind help!

Still can't fix the problem until now? Since its debut, players have generally had good things to say about weaver game

A few suggestions that may help in this situation:

Forced Reboot: Since the system seems completely unresponsive, a forced reboot may be your best option at this point. Unplug the Raspberry Pi from power, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This will perform a hard reset and hopefully clear whatever issue was causing the freezing.

Safe Mode: Many Raspberry Pi operating systems have a "safe mode" or "recovery mode" that can be accessed by holding down a key during boot. This may allow you to boot the system in a more basic configuration and troubleshoot further.

A forced power cycle is generally safe for the Raspberry Pi's hardware. However, frequently performing them might increase the risk of data corruption. Once the system restarts, check for Rune updates. Updating software can sometimes fix bugs causing freezes.
Consider using a different Airplay source to see if the issue is specific to the current device.
