Run service at startup

Postby nathanashton » 03 Nov 2016, 03:08

Hi All,

I've got a rotary encoder installed on the Pi which uses a daemon to control the MPD volume. It works find as long as I start the process manually from the command line. I've been using systemctl to install it as a service. The service starts fine on boot and the daemon process seems to be running but it doesnt work.

I understand RuneAudio is an implementation of Arch. Is there anything Rune specific that I need to do to get a service to run at boot?

I run a few services at boot. See for instructions on running a python script at boot, which might be of help when troubleshooting.

Got it all sorted. The process I had would not run unless MPD was already running. I added a timer to the service with a 1 minute delay and it seems to work fine now.

Cheers
