Question about digital out of an usb soundcard (SB X-fi HD)

Hello.. first of all.. many thanks for this nice project...I like Rune audio very much..you did a really good job!
I just bougth a Raspberry Pi B+, and Rune Audio wors fine...very very nice interface
I connected a Behringer UCA 222 usb..it worked "out of the box" and i can get digital out from the soundcard
I also have a Soundblaster X-Fi HD USB, and i wanted to send optical SPDIF to my external DAC
But Audio output is only analog..
Is there a way to use spdif output of the Sounblaster (it is 24/96) instead of analog outputs?

Hi Roberto,
take a look at this similiar issue:

In our setup (using ALSA instead of PulseAudio) you should manually set the right subinterface in the /etc/mpd.conf file (I guess hw:1,1 instead of hw:1,0) and see if ot works.
The problem is that, at the time, the modifications yo do at the file won't stick after a reboot. A fix to this misbehaviour will come soon.

can you please send details on your configuration with the SX-fi HD connected to the Raspberry?

i just figured out how to edit mpd.conf

The folks at RuneAudio are working on refining the way subdevices are handled - in order to try to support your Creative device the info you posted are a good starting point.
I will send you a PM in order to gather more info - should they be needed.
