Interesting topic. Problem is that the more functions something has the less specialised it tends to be is for particular task. For example, KODI can stream video and audio (as well as managing your photo collection), but it is not as good as Rune for audio streaming.
So KODI is a valid solution if you accept the less powerful audio features.
The only other way to go, as mentioned above, is a dual boot solution. If this is a route you wish to investigate further, you could look here:
