Browse by New\Latest Music

Similar to RuneUI update to browse by artist, album etc.

It would be nice to also browse by new/latest music. Is this possible?

This would help me access my new music quicker.

MPD supports the "find modified-since" command since 0.19:
http://www.musicpd.org/doc/protocol/database.html
Could you test that and see if it could make sense to add a new browse mode based on it?

I'd really like to put a vote in for this one.

With a large library it would be really conveient if you could just sort by 'last added'.

I've mentioned this before but, another way would be to have an automatic playlist of new music. Perhaps a or python script that runs periodically or triggered by a folder update.

Correct me if i'm wrong @[deleted] but the find modified-since will report the file timestamp, not the time added to the mpd database file. But that may be a limitation, i can't see any timestamp on the mpd.db file.

i cannot figure out how the 'modified since' syntax works. Could someone spell it out for me?
what would be rad is if you could add a home block to the runeui.js with the out put of this. @[deleted], could you give me a tip here?

here's my horrible hack/idea

Here's what i've been using.
create an m3u of recent modified files. it works but getting to the playlist is kinda clunky via the ui.

find /mnt/MPD/ -regex ".*\.\(mp3\|mp4\|ogg\|flac\)" -mtime -60 -print| sed -e 's%^./%%g' >> /var/lib/mpd/playlists/recent.m3u

The problem with both of these examples is that they have defined dates, we should be able to have the modified date sorted by latest so to be a bit more dynamic. If there was a sort by date in the album/artist list, this would be solved. from what i can see, 'mpc list album' does not give that flexibility.
