ICLlP Hi, I've also posted this on the HiFiBerry forum. I bought a HiFiBerry Digi+ for my brother in law to play through the DAC of his AMR CD-777. The CD player has a single coaxial digital input. We tried it yesterday, but could not get sound. We had definitely selected the DAC as the source rather than the CD transport. Is there any reason why it wouldn’t work? Below is an extract from the CD player manual. 4.1 DAC Input (RCD-777 only) The DAC button (RC4) is for the replay of music on the CD-777 from music stored on a computer hard-drive via an S/P-DIF or USB cable connection. To establish the connection between the CD-777 and the hard disk source: ii. Power ON the CD-777. On the RCD-777, press the DAC button (RC4) to place the CD-777 in ‘DAC mode’. Power ON the personal computer. Connect the S/P-DIF input OR USB cable between the CD-777 and the personal computer. Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager. In Device Manager wait until the personal computer in Hardware has recognized the CD-777 as a USB Audio Device. This is found under the Sound, video and game controllers category. Go to Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio. Make sure USB Audio Device is selected as the default device under the Sound playback box. Select playback music software on the personal computer (Apple iTunes®, Foobar®, Winamp®, Windows Media Player®, Windows Media Center® et al).
hondagx35 Hi ICLlP, please give us more infos and post your debug information. #431 You also can try the Test-Image from HifiBerry: Raspbian with test tone generator This image will boot Raspbian and play a 1kHz sine wave for 5 minutes. This is the easiest way to test that the hardware is working correctly. http://www.hifiberry.com/files/images/hifiberry-testimage.zip
ICLlP Thanks for the response. Daniel at Crazy Audio also suggested I use the HiFiBerry test image. That is the next thing to do. I'm now 120 miles from the kit so I'll have to work through it over the phone with my brother in law. It could take a while.
