This setting has nothing to do with software updates!

Thank you for the good work.
I have a question about storage webradio.

In 0.3 Samba was on by default, in 0.4 you need to enable and start Samba (once with systemctl)

In 0.3 in Windows Explorer you see Musicstore with the following sub directories: LocalStorage, NAS, Podcast, USB and Webradio
In 0.4 you see MusicLocalStorage, MusicStoreNAS and MusicStoreUSB

The thing is when you copied a list of pls and m3u files in the directory Webradio of 0.3 version and than add one webstation in the GUI all webstations in the directory will be added.

How to make the webradio directory visible again in Windows Explorer with 0.4 version?

In 0.3 Samba was on by default, in 0.4 you need to enable and start Samba (once with systemctl)

You are right samba seems to be disabled by mistake.

systemctl restart smbd
systemctl enable smbd

Restarts and enables samba, so that it will be available even after reboot.

Question about Webradio is solved.
I modified the Samba configuration.

Great to hear that you have solved the problem.
Maybe others also like to know how you did this!

You have to add this

to /etc/samba/smb.conf and reboot or restart samba.

Thank you, that was indeed what i did.

I have another question about something i noticed in daily use.

When selecting a stream or track in the queue, Runeaudio locate that track in the middle of the queue list.
That movement is often not straight in one movement and more nervous than i was used to in former versions.

You can test it best to add 40 tracks to the queue. Especially the 9th track from the top is behaving strange.

No, it was Standard Updates http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/troubleshooting/updating/

I see that for Nightly Builds there is a particular procedure.

Is 0.4-Beta a Nightly Build ??

Can you illuminate as to why the B+ kernel cannot be updated? I am building a DAC with external oscillators similar to the Allo Boss and would like to use it with my B+. If I update the kernel on my fully up to date Rune 0.3 (/dev tree updated with git pull), will other things cease to function? Would this work?

I did update my kernel a long time ago on my version running in my garage.

Try to follow this steps:

and adapt your config.txt to your needs.

The ALLO Bos modules are not available via kernel update yet.
You have to patch the kernel.
What you can try is to use the Hifiberry DAC+ pro drivers instead.

Much less painful to set up and it works well for me so many thanks for the work put in so far

One point to note is that although I can mount my NAS , I can't point it to the shared music folder . On my old RPi 1 running nightly , it works fine in the format :

http://192.168.0.3/public/SharedMusic

but I can only get 0.4 to work using :

http://192.168.0.3/public

I've tried all lower case and all upper case . Any ideas ?

Try deleting the share and re-entering it. This has worked for me in the past.

Hi, this will be the chance to introduce myself. My name is Karine-Johanne and i've been using the player various forks for about a week (namely Volumio and Moode apart from Rune). Each one has specifics that i like, so my ideal player would be a mix of all of them i guess.

I'm currently using beta 0.4 on a RaspberryPi 3 with the official 7' screen.

I'm not a proper coder but would be interested to know if there's a specific CSS containing the various elements to be customized, like UI colors.
I've changed the logo already but would like to try a few different UI colors and maybe add a background in order to make my Rune look more 'girly'. ^^
One thing i find missing in the current version is the lack of file type information. It would be great to have an MP3, Opus, (He)AAC(+), Alac or Flac logo showing up when playing. My skills wonr't allow me to do that yet unfortunatelly.

The UI style sheet is at srv/http/assets/css/runeui.css.

One minor thing that bugged me about the new 0.4 beta was that the lower menu text wasn't vertically centred. This was easy to fix by changing the line-height of '#menu-bottom a' from 50px to 40px.

You can see which styles apply to various elements on the page and change them 'on the fly' if you open Rune in IE or Firefox and then use the Developer Tools 'DOM Explorer'. [You'll see the various CSS and JS files have numbers in them, eg 'runeui.1489748913.css'. Ignore these numbers when finding the files].

Be careful what you do though. Best to make a copy of the original file before you start, using

cp runeui.css runeui.css.bak

I may have commented on some of these before.

The changes to WebRadio - listing alphabetically and staying on the page when you add a new station are both very welcome.

Artist and song info great too. Could this be done for Radio and Spotify?

One minor thing I've noticed is that the Volume knob doesn't always respond to the Up and Down icons. If this happens I have to drag the volume up or down and the icons then work again. The volume will also sometimes drop back slightly by itself. I don't recall either of these issues with the previous betas.
