I found a bug, but it's not a new one:
When having albums with the same name, from different artists (Greatest Hits is a good example), it shows all artists and title from this albums. Also if I selected an artist before, it shows me all artists with a greatest hits album.
Yes, it is a known bug but not easy to fix at the moment.

This usually happens when you don't use the "Album Artist" field for compilations, doesn't it? The current release of Rune handles this correctly for me.

It's fine to have the artist set correctly, per track- but set the "Album Artist" to "Various" or something for multi-artist releases.. metadata is important. Pretty much everything understands "Album Artist" except Apple stuff (big shock there).

Where are your music files? I get something similar to you if the connection to my NAS (NFS) has gone down, and I need to rebuild the MPD database.

Hmm, it still has to be down to metadata. I have a ton of single artist "best of" for compilations that don't do that. Can you tell me how to reproduce it, so it's clear what to look for if I accidentally do the same thing at some point? Every time I've had a problem like that, making sure that the artist or album artist tags are consistent* has always fixed it- on everything except Apple stuff.

That said, it's probably a bit offtopic for this thread- but I hate split albums with a passion, and get a bit obsessive over it.

*very quick/easy to do with something like JRiver, which makes bulk setting of metadata painless

Ok, I will add the album artist tag to all single artist albums in future. (Mp3tag is a great tool!) Thought it is unimportant if artist and album artist is the same, so I was letting it empty...

this all will not solve the "Greatest Hits" issue.

How browsing by Album currently works is:
- ask MPD for a list of all known Albums

mpd list Album

- Rune lists them alphabetically
- clicking on an album name (e.g. Greatest Hits) executes

mpd find Album "Greatest Hits"

- this gives back a list with all songs from all albums named "Greatest Hits"

you can try this on console with

telnet 0 6600

list Album

find Album "Greatest Hits"

MPD has a feature to group results like

list Album group Albumartist

With that we can try to get Rune to display one entry per Albumartist in the browse by album view.

Hi Frank,
I deleted my sd card and I've done installation from the beginning. Now the music normally plays, I have no idea why it didn't work the first time.

But my library window is still empty. It's not empty every time, but I would say if I click on the library 5 times, 4 times it is empty, and only one time I can open it normally. I attached picture of my library so you can see how it looks.
I tried with different runeaudio web adress, the one you gave me yesterday and the same thing happens.
I did some testing of it;
I'm accessing rune with my laptop through mozilla firefox, I tried to turn off adblocker and the library is still blank.
I tried with internet explorer, library still blank.
Then I tried with tablet, with 2 web browsers, still blank.
I tried with rune app for android still blank.
Once more I must point out that it's not happenning every time, but like 80% of times.

Thanks, that makes sense- I should learn to read. I have a bunch of albums called "Best Of", displaying the artist after in parentheses would be handy!

that's a typical description of the regular AP mode (also available on other distributions). If our case an IP is available through the wired interface. Didn't look at the figure though..

"If a WiFi device is available and no IP is assigned to it RuneAudio starts an AccessPoint."
What does this mean?
- you can have wifi profiles configured and they have priority
- if none of your configured APs is available Rune starts his own (if enabled)
- the access point feature does not depend on the ethernet nic (otherwise natting wouldn't work).
