Foxman50 wroteHi all
Have just come across this site and thinking it is just what i need, but have a few questions if someone would be good enough to help me understand.
Firstly i already have a Pi B (not +) and a DAC with both usb and coax input. I have a streamer at present and a NAS running minimserver upnp server.
1. Can rune running on the pi use minimserver to feed it music, or will i have to set up a share to my music folder on the NAS.
2. I read you web browse to Rune, are you able to select different views and does it show album art work. I have a Naim streamer and wonder if its similar to nstream look.
3. How do you go about setting up iradio stations.
Many thanks in advance.
Graeme
Hi Graeme
I've only been using Rune for a week or so and am also new to the Raspberry Pi, but as far as I know Rune will do all you require.
It will find all your music files on a NAS, although you may need sort out the permissions/shares.
You shouldn't need a music server. The GUI gives direct access to the files and album art work is available in the playback screen.
A variety of sources are available, including iRadio, USB mounts (ie USB sticks and hard drives) and other streaming sources.
Finding some of the URLs for radio can be a challenge, but that's all part of the learning curve.
Best thing is really just to try it, all it takes is writng an image to sd card, connecting ethernet cable and USB cables, and then a little time experimenting.
I find it all quite rewarding.
