Spotify playlists not visible

miskor

Hello all,

Brand new RuneAudio user, running latest version (0.4 build: beta-20160313)) on rPi 3.

After configuring Spotify account name / pass (I do have premium account) and switching renderer I can only see one play list - "Favorites" - which corresponds to "Starred" playlist on Spotify client. Nothing else is visible in the library...

My debug info is here: http://pastebin.com/k9Bqj10d

In the spopd.log I can see some errors:

Hi MiskoR,

I can only see one play list - "Favorites" ..... Nothing else is visible in the library...

Do you have other playlists?
Rune can only play from your playlists.

Hello Frank,

Thanks for your prompt reply - let me clarify a bit your question: "mine" as I've created them or simply I follow them (so I have them in my playlist section of spotify client)?

"Favorites" - which corresponds to "Starred" playlist on Spotify client.

Yes, "Starred" is displayed as "Favorites".
And all your other playlists should be displayed beneath this.

Frank

Well, it looks a bit different on IOS app but I do have a lot of playlists - those two of them are created by me (starred and my shazam tracks), others are the ones that I am following:

I've created one new personal list this morning and it is not visible on runeaudio:

Hi all,

i did some tests.
Now i can confirm that there is a problem with spotify.

On the console you can test the response from spop (libspotify):

telnet localhost 6602

Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
spop 0.0.1
ls

Here the output from ls:

{"playlists":[{"type":"playlist","name":"","tracks":298,"offline":false,"index":0},{},{"type":"playlist","name":"Kina Grannis — The Living Room Sessions Vol. 2","tracks":10,"offline":false,"index":2},{"type":"playlist","name":"Kina Grannis — No (90's Mashup)","tracks":1,"offline":false,"index":3},{},{"type":"playlist","name":"Women of Jazz","tracks":88,"offline":false,"index":5},{"type":"playlist","name":"Fabrizio Bosso — Formidable!","tracks":12,"offline":false,"index":6},{},{},{"type":"playlist","name":"The Complete Collection","tracks":45,"offline":false,"index":9},{"type":"playlist","name":"My Favorite Songs","tracks":13,"offline":false,"index":10},{"type":"playlist","name":"Various Artists – Dizzy Gillespie: A Night in Tunisia","tracks":15,"offline":false,"index":11},{"type":"playlist","name":"laurin hill unplugged","tracks":22,"offline":false,"index":12},{"type":"playlist","name":"Antonio Carlos Jobim – Antonio Brasileiro","tracks":15,"offline":false,"index":13},{"type":"playlist","name":"Scelto dalla radio","tracks":3,"offline":false,"index":14},{},{"type":"playlist","name":"Norah Jones – ...Featuring","tracks":18,"offline":false,"index":16},{},{"type":"playlist","name":"Sara Bareilles – Between The Lines: Sara Bareilles Live At The Fillmore","tracks":12,"offline":false,"index":18},{"type":"playlist","name":"Eddie Vedder - Music For The Motion Picture Into The Wild","tracks":11,"offline":false,"index":19},{},{"type":"playlist","name":"Rock This","tracks":50,"offline":false,"index":21}]}

The red marked entries are those with the "ChannelError" in the log.

Would be great if someone could try this and post the output.

Hello Frank,

here you go:

[root@runeaudio ~]# telnet localhost 6602
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
spop 0.0.1
ls
{"playlists":[{"type":"playlist","name":"","tracks":8,"offline":false,"index":0}]}

Hi miskor,

this looks like it should.
You have one playlist with 8 tracks and an empty name field. This will show up as "Favourites" in Rune.

Frank

miskor

But where are the other playlists??? I do have at least two more created by me...

I have the same problem, been working for 6 months and suddenly it stopped working. Now I only have Favorites to choose from.

miskor

Can this be due to the fact that spop is built upon libspotify which is deprecated and now maybe Spotify is blocking access?

I get a few playlists labeled "undefined" that display a spinner forever if I try to view them. Earlier in the day spotify was not working at all and I did not do anything to fix it, it simply came back after a bit.

This is what I get on my log file. It was working fine a few nights ago, today, nothing...

I logged in via Telnet, ran ls and this is what I get:

Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
spop 0.0.1
ls
{"playlists":[{}]}

The only thing I changed a few nights back, I disconnected the NAS drive and replaced it with a USB drive (had network issues at home). But that's MPD, right? Should it affect spop?

Happy to try other things. This is quite annoying. Last time it "fixed itself" as many have seen.

Cheers,

Albert

Spotify stopped working for me yesterday too. I can see my playlists, and when I try to play something the playback knob shows that something is being processed, but there is no sound.

I have no problems with mpd content via Network Mounts from my Synology NAS.

I am using an RPI2 via ethernet, latest Rune image.

Sorry for my last post. Already knew the answer per Frank:

Please try this while playing a song from spotify (no audio doesn't matter here)
- go to MENU->Mpd
- select "RaspberryPi Analog Out" as Audio interface.
- switch back to your DAC

I wish I could see something on the playlist.

I get nothing. I do have Spotify playlists, but they don't show! Once they show, everything works fine.

^same problem here...

irishwill2008

Is this a present bug still?

I can confirm that i am having NO troubles with spotify loading my user defined playlists. Everything loads as it should for me? I am not missing anything. I thought i would post this in case it is a regional issue? I am from Ireland. As stated, i am having no troubles?

P.s. In case i am blind, what is it that is not loading? The playlist section? Or the content inside the playlists? Either way, Mine has been working and i leave the machine on 24/7. So far, my pi is pi3 and im on v0.3-beta (23/03/2016) Version. I then did an update to the dev mode but i am not using the latest 0.4 (that recent one Frank published the other day!) Im still using the version before. But all is good on my end!

Regards,
Will.

when you click on Spotify, it just shows a folder which reads undefined. none of my playlists are showing

I'm running a RPi 2 Model B with HifiBerry DAC2 on Rune v0.3-beta
