Hi Frank-
The command does not work:
[root@runeaudio ~]# alsamixer -c 1
cannot load mixer controls: Invalid argument
Here is what I am thinking. The DAC has no hardware volume controls, but the system handshake at the linux level is trying to establish the min and max volume parameters when the DAC connect. Since the DAC can't provide these parameters, it errors out.
I tried disabling the volume controls in MPD and rebooting, but still the same behavior. It feels like there must be a config setting somewhere to instruct Linux NOT to attempt to establish the min/max volume parameters, but my Linux knowledge is zero.
Here are my audio_output parameters:
audio_output {
name "bcm2835 ALSA_1"
type "alsa"
device "hw:0,0"
dsd_usb "yes"
auto_resample "no"
auto_format "no"
enabled "yes"
}
audio_output {
name "MICROMEGA MYDAC"
type "alsa"
device "hw:1,0"
dsd_usb "yes"
auto_resample "no"
auto_format "no"
}
audio_output {
name "bcm2835 ALSA_2"
type "alsa"
device "hw:0,0"
dsd_usb "yes"
auto_resample "no"
auto_format "no"
}
