hondagx35 wroteHi,
to install wiringpi on ArchLinux i would first try:
pacman-Sy wiringpi
I have no Pi at hands to try it out, but it should work.
EDIT: Tried this on a RP2/RP3 image and it is installable this way!

THANKYOU! In every. Single. Damn. Thing. I read on this, this wasn't mentioned ANYWHERE. Absolutely nothing I would do worked.
For anybody that has the same issues, then steps I followed after this to get it to work are as follows:
Get wiringPi
pacman -Sy wiringpi
Get compiler
pacman -Sy gcc
Kept getting weird timeout issues, however after a few attempts it downloaded
Getting all the rotary encoder/IR files
git clone git://www.github.com/iqaudio/tools
Heading over to the folder and opening the file to edit (I could never get the automatic scripts to run)
cd /tools
nano IQ_rot.c
Deleted the two true/false definitions on line 40/41 and changed
const char *card = "default";
to
const char *card = "hw:1";
(as per the other thread), then Ctrl+x to save/quit.
Compiling
gcc IQ_rot.c -oIQ_rot -lwiringPi -lasound
Navigate to
cd /etc/systemd/system
Create
nano IQ_rot.service
Paste this in
[Unit]
Description=IQ rotary encoder
[Service]
ExecStart=/root/tools/IQ_rot &
[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
Finally, enabling the service
systemctl enable IQ_rot.service
Hopefully this is step-by-step enough for anybody that comes across it in the future and has the same issues!
