Hi Rony,
welcome to RuneAudio.
I can't use the ethernet of my router
Why not use it temporarily?
Can I set up the wifi (ssid and password) during (of after) the sd flashing ?
Yes you can do it with your Ubuntu PC.
- plug the card back in the PC
- you should get two new mounts (one is the boot partition and the other one is the root partition)
- open the second one with your file browser
- navigate to the folder /etc/netctl
- create a new file and name it like your SSID
copy this (DHCP)
Description='wlan0 connection'
Interface=wlan0
Connection=wireless
Security=wpa-configsection
IP=dhcp
WPAConfigSection=(
'ssid="SSID"'
'psk="MyPassphrase"'
'key_mgmt=WPA-PSK'
'proto=WPA'
'group=TKIP'
'pairwise=TKIP'
'priority=3'
)
or this (static IP)
Description='wlan0 connection'
Interface=wlan0
Connection=wireless
Security=wpa-configsection
AutoWired=yes
ExcludeAuto=no
IP=static
Address=('192.168.0.1/13')
Gateway='192.168.0.1'
DNS=('8.8.8.8' '8.8.4.4')
WPAConfigSection=(
'ssid="NETGEAR"'
'psk="MyPassphrase"'
'key_mgmt=WPA-PSK'
'proto=WPA'
'group=TKIP'
'pairwise=TKIP'
'priority=3'
)
Replace SSID, MyPassphrase and IPs with your values.
Depending on your AP group=CCMP and pairwise=CCMP may also be a valid option.
If not, how can I use a wifi access point to configure it with the web interface ?
You can't.
If not, how can I connect my RPi3 to my PC (Ubuntu) with direct ethernet (ad hoc) ?
You need a DHCP running server on your PC.
An other option is to connect a Monitor and keyboard (mouse) to your Pi.
It will display a local web browser with the UI.
Only drawback is that no cursor is displayed (optimized for touch use).
Hope this helps.
