Hi all,
I see this thread discussing using 'HD parm' to shut down an external hard drive when it's not in use.
#1198
Is anyone able to break down the steps needed to install the package for a newbie? I think I follow most of the info on that thread but I get stuck at installing the package.
These threads have additional general info, but I am lost.

I tried these instructions found on github:
Install hdparm first, with
$ sudo apt-get install -y hdparm
.
But nothing happens. Is it supposed to download and install automatically? Feels like I'm missing something basic. I am logged into my device which only has Rune installed on it.
Note: I am using Terminal on a Mac to remotely log into Rune v0.3-beta (23/03/2016) on a Raspberry pi 2 (model B). Happy to provide more info as needed.
Many thanks!
