updating Rune question

Hi,
I'm trying to update Rune as listed in the docs.
shh to rune then

rm -rf /var/www/{*,.*}
git clone -b dev https://github.com/RuneAudio/RuneUI.git/ /var/www
curl -s http://localhost/clear
reboot

first command give me a no permission error, but nevertheless I proceeded. After reboot, I don't know whether I'm up-to-date.
How can I get an indication?

you have to be in the right directory:

cd /var/www
git status

now I repeated the updating procedure while in /var/www . rebooted. same message as above for git status

I just want to see the version / build data or something..
I see users talking about 0.4, but all I get when booting is the 0.3-beta for Os and 1.3-beta for Ui.

from web debug page I only see
