Hi dror,
Read the description from
here:
The Arch User Repository (AUR) is a community-driven repository for Arch users. It contains package descriptions (PKGBUILDs) that allow you to compile a package from source with makepkg and then install it via pacman.
So you have to
- add a new user (you can not make packages as root)
useradd -m -G wheel username
passwd username
- get the PKGBUILD file from AUR
cd /home/username
wget https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/plain/PKGBUILD?h=hostapd-rtl871xdrv -O PKGBUILD
- install all dependencies and programs for the build process
pacman -Syy base-devel
- make the package as normal user
You have to login as the new user you created before
Goto your home folder and enter
makepkg PKGBUILD
If all is good you will get a xz file in your home folder.
- install the package as root
Login as root and execute
pacman -U hostapd.xxxx.xz
