cthomas117 wroteIs there such a thing a buying Rune Audio pre-configured on an sdCard? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I am a newbie ti the RPi3. I've followed the usual instructions to format the sdCard and to write the ISO to the sdCard, but when I insert the sdCard and power up the Pi, I get the rainbow colored circle.
Any help would be appreciated. I've gone so far as to overwrite and erase the sdCard instead of just the 'quick format'.
Hi cthomas117,
the rainbow coloured circle is a power issue.... more information needed:
Do you have a DAC or DIGI attached?
Do you output the audio signal via USB to an external DAC?
Do you have other USB devices attached to the Raspberry Pi's USB connectors?
For now, you could try disconnecting all USB devices from your Raspberry Pi and boot RuneAudio again. If RuneAudio then boots correctly, you have three possible options:
Option 1: Try powering the Raspberry Pi from another USB source, like a TV, AMP, etc.
Option 2: Get a better power supply to power your Raspberry Pi. For the Raspberry Pi 3, make sure it's 5V and (I think) at least 2.5A.
Option 3: You could get a powered USB hub to connect your other USB devices to the Raspberry Pi. Try to make sure the USB hub has a power supply with 5v and at least 2amp or more (mine has 4amp)!
Let us know how you get along. And as always, enjoy the music!

rastus.
