The IQ_rot.c code probably uses the same method of increasing/decreasing the volume that I use with my remote. At some point, a click on the encoder is translated to an mpc command.
The commands I use look like this, where +/-2 is 2%:
mpc volume +2
mpc volume -2
So, if you find where the increment is defined in the code, you can change it.
The switch has to be connected to ground, and to an unused GPIO pin. After that, a service can be created to activate a small python script when a key press is detected on the GPIO line.
the mpc command to pause/play looks like this:
mpc toggle
I had pause/play working with a separate momentary switch, before I reassigned it as a shutdown switch (with some help from the forum).
