USB Speaker no sound

Hi I'm extremely new so forgive any stupid questions.
I have hooked up a raspberry pi 2 to a set of USB speakers that have a built in soundcard to use as a internet radio. I have run volumio and pi musicbox and get sound from the speakers but decided to try runeaudio as it has better interface etc.
However in rune I can not get sound, the light on the speakers blink as they do when playing normally (speakers work fine have tested).
I thought it might be to do with i2s settings and tried to sort that but it's over my head really, on checking rune it automatically has output set to analogue but has USB in the drop down which I selected.

Any help would be appreciated

Do not change I2S settings while using a USB DAC.

- Are your speakers usb powered?
- Please check / post your debug output.

Did you tried to choose the correct sound outpt from:
-Menu
-MPD
-Audio Output (USB PnP sound device or similar)
?

Thanks for getting back to me quickly. The speakers are usb powered and as said before that they work with volumio without needing any changes. Audio output is set to raspberry pi analogue on first boot so I changed this to usb in the drop down.

Please check alsa settings on the console:

your soundcard may be muted:

usb 1-1.5: Warning! Unlikely big volume range (=17152), cval->res is probably wrong.

that they work with volumio without needing any changes.

You can not compare Volumio with RuneAudio because one is based on Raspbian and the other on ArchLinux.
Problems with external devices are most likely driver issues.

Sorry about that I thought they had forked off from a previous platform.

Yes I do get that notification when it's changed. I have now set the volume to start at a lower level on start.

out of curiosity I un hooked the usb speakers and connected a speaker into the jack, this time under audio out usb was not an option so prevoius speakers were being recondnised. but I could still not get sound i think im destined to not use rune.

You have nothing you can play music from.
If you like to play a radio stream, you have to add it to the queue first.
You also can try to play a station from jamendo.

Hi, did you ever figure it out? I had a similar issue with my Logitech S150 USB Speakers. Work fine with Raspbian and Ubuntu-Mate but could not get the sound to work on rune audio.

in the webUI "MPD Configuration > Audio Output >USB Audio" without any luck. Used putty to login as root/rune then:
# nano /etc/modules-load.d/raspberrypi.conf

Place a comment symbol "#" before "snd-bcm2835" in the second line:
#snd-bcm2835

Rebooted and still no sound.
webUI "MPD Configuration > Audio Output > Volume control > enable - hardware" and manually turned the volume up using the speakers buttons, worked. Also set the "Volume control > enable - software" and still works. Maybe a glitch in the software, who knows but this thing is cool!
