Dear Rune Audio team and fellow users,
I noticed today that both of the update mechanisms suggested on page
http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/troubleshooting/updating/ failed due to a git commit issue on my Rune Audio 0.3-beta image for Raspberry Pi2 Model B. The image was downloaded through the link in the Quick Start Quide of this site.
Fixing the Dirble problem was my main reason for doing the update. I tried it a few times through the RuneUI, but then noticed from the blue info box that the update was actually aborted before completion.
Here are the step-by-step instructions that worked for me:
1. Connect display and keyboard
As a beginner user, I have not tested remote login to my Raspberry before. The simple way to access the linux command shell is to plug in your USB keyboard and HDMI display.
2. Power up and login
The Raspberry boots to command line and you can now login
username: root
password: rune
3. Pull the standard updates from GitHub:
We need to add
git checkout command to the sequence as just typing git pull would abort the update. Let's discard any local updates that were accidentally part of the 0.3-beta software image:
cd /var/www
git checkout -- .
git pull
curl -s -X GET 'http://localhost/clear'
(note the . at the end of the git checkout command)
4. Reboot
Reboot can be done from the command line:
sudo shutdown -r now
5. Empty your browser cache
Finally on your RuneUI controller device go to the browser settings and clear browser cache.
That's it!
At least in my case Dirble opens up nicely. It still has the issue of showing
Dirble(null) on the main Library page but works otherwise.
Hope this helps other beginners update their devices.
