Hi,
I downloaded RuneOS and RuneUI from github

but seems that files here were a bit outdated with respect to pre built images

I can see in Credits: release version: 0.3 (build: beta-20141027)
while a friend of mine in his ordroid device has 0.4

Are the repository for 0.4 publicly available?

I'm lazy so I won't search the other theads where this is mentioned but no, 0.4 repo is not available. The devs are keeping it to themselves for the time beeing. Yes that's too bad, yes, i'd like to try a 0.4 alpha, too. but that's their decision.
they believe they would spend so much time taking care of unskilled users or would take so much backlash in return for every small bug that they prefer to wait untill it's ready. Again, I don't necessarily agree with this but that's their decision.

What is your intention?

All available images have nothing to do with the current development.
This is the reason why you do not see any changes on the github repo.

All pre build images can be updated to the same state (RuneUI version) by following these instructions.

The version number displayed does not change by updating to the nightly builds.

For each hardware platform we have to use different linux kernels.
Some are equipped with a IR receiver others have SATA or SPDIF support.
The github repo RuneOS is manly for the older RP1 and not for the other platforms.

This all will change with the new version.

So please tell us what you like to achieve and will get the help you need.

Hi Aquarius, if you think you might contribute in an active way to speed up the development of the new version, just let me know it and I'll be happy to give you a preview of what's being done here. Otherwise, releasing something incomplete just for the sake of curiosity would only slow us down.
