How to setup WIFI with edimax dongle

What I have to do to connect the Rasp B with my Wifi network using an edimax dongle. Should it work with the web gui (doesn't work for me) or I have to login to console and setup in Arch Linux?

Thanks for the quick answer. The WiFi is working now but unfortunately the Audio quality is much worse than before. Now there is something like an echo in the background. I understand that nightly build is not stable. But the question is, what is the best way to get WiFi and a stable release. However if release 0.4 is around the corner I can wait

I did the same procedure again. Use exactly the same HW . And get the same behaver. But it seams that this happens when I play from USB stick if I play Jamendo sound is good. I also download a test mp3 from https://archive.org/details/testmp3testfile same issue ,

This is strange, because the update shouldn't affect the sound quality.

Please can you go back to ethernet and remove the wifi dongle (with updates installed).
I think it is a power supply issue (active wifi draws a lot of power).

meanwhile I played a little wit settings. If I change Sound Signature to Um3ggh1u or Arche Linux default it looks like that it works.

I remove the Wifi dongle and use the Ethernet, but I got the same issue. Changing the signature helps when I delete the queued song and start it from the library.

BTW : Power could not be the problem , I also testet it with an powered usb hub

With a Pi2 and EDIMAX dongle, I do not see much power being used even during continuous play. Very little difference between stopped and playing. I measure the voltage and current with an inline USB multimeter, and I see only about 350-400mA (more at startup). I verified this as much as possible using a Fluke meter, which is more accurate, but not as convenient.

If I am measuring wrong, or making bad assumptions, I would very much like to know...

I’m running an RPi2 image with iQAudio DAC and amp streaming wirelessly from my NAS and it all sounds great but I am having intermittent WiFi problems.
Seeing this thread, I decided to try the Nightly build and followed the instructions ...
I got a refusal to remove ‘.’ and ‘..’ files or directories. Then the download failed a couple of times with remote end hung up/early EOF/index pack fail messages. On the third attempt the download succeeded and everything seems to be running OK.
I then did git stash and git pull and got the message ‘Already up-to-date’.

My first question: Do I have the Standard Update or the Nightly Update and how can I identify?

My second question: Should I have Dev Mode enabled or should I just do git stash & pull periodically?

The image for the PI2 is already based on the nightly builds, so no need to upgrade.
On the image for the PI2 there is an error that doesn't allow regular updates.
So you have to do:

cd /var/www
git stash
git pull

once.
After this it is enough to navigate to "http://ip-address/dev" and select Update "RuneUI".

My second question: Should I have Dev Mode enabled or should I just do git stash & pull periodically?

No it is not necessary to enable "dev mode".

All other images are based on the master branch.

If you are using the Edimax EW-7811Un make sure it is not going to sleep. The steps in the link below helped me immensely with my Wifi dropouts.

I have just turned off Dev Mode but now it is not possible to Update RuneAudio [gitpull] as that option now seems to be prohibited.
What have I done wrong?

Nothing, this is the normal behavior. You have to turn on dev mode before updating.
