Very long shutdown ("A stop job is running for...")

Hello,

My config is RuneAudio-0.3-beta / Raspberry Pi2 / HifiBerry DAC+ / wired ethernet / NAS.

The shutdown is very very long (almost 2 mns). During the shutdown process, I can see a line
"A stop job is running for /mnt/MPD/NAS/NAS (NNs / 1min 31s)"
and it is counting until 1min31, then the shutdown process continues and terminates properly. Sometimes the counter even restarts for a new period.

Can we cut down this waiting step?

I'm sorry, my weak knowledge in Lunix doesn't allow me to investigate the reason of this waiting.

The shutdown is very very long (almost 2 mns).

This only happens when you trigger the shutdown via console (shutdown now -h).
It is because the shares have to be unmounted first.

Shutting down via UI (MENU->Turn off) should be faster.

If you like to shut down via console try this:

/srv/http/command/rune_shutdown
shutdown now -h

You are perfectly right!

Shutting down via the UI is immediate. And using the command /srv/http/command/rune_shutdown just before the poweroff is also immediate. I had a look inside the rune_shutdown script and it appears that RuneAudio does some stuff before shutting down. So I have to do the same.

But as I'am a little bit lazy I have created two aliases to poweroff my Pi properly via the console:

alias poweroff="/srv/http/command/rune_shutdown && poweroff"
alias reboot="/srv/http/command/rune_shutdown && reboot"

To make them persistent after reboot, add those 2 lines into /root/.profile (and not .bashrc as I expected!).
