Hi james_b,
i tested scrobbling to last.fm and it works fine on my Pi2.
Are there any special characters in your credentials?
Get access to the console and post the output from:
systemctl status mpdscribble
Should look like this:
[root@runeaudiorp2 ~]# systemctl status mpdscribble
* mpdscribble.service - last.fm updater for MPD
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/mpdscribble.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: active (running) since Fri 2015-11-06 01:53:12 CET; 15s ago
Process: 1059 ExecStart=/usr/bin/mpdscribble --pidfile /run/mpdscribble.pid (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Main PID: 1062 (mpdscribble)
CGroup: /system.slice/mpdscribble.service
`-1062 /usr/bin/mpdscribble --pidfile /run/mpdscribble.pid
With wrong credentials it looks like this:
[root@runeaudiorp2 ~]# systemctl status mpdscribble
* mpdscribble.service - last.fm updater for MPD
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/mpdscribble.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)

Process: 1033 ExecStart=/usr/bin/mpdscribble --pidfile /run/mpdscribble.pid (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Main PID: 1034 (mpdscribble)
CGroup: /system.slice/mpdscribble.service
`-1034 /usr/bin/mpdscribble --pidfile /run/mpdscribble.pid
