Hi Discovery,
from one of your other posts i remember that you are working on a PI2, right?
It occurs to me internal wifi processes might be disabled by physically removing the wifi dongle - if so, please advise.
Yes and no.
To be sure all processes related to wifi are stopped use:
systemctl disable netctl-auto@wlan0
After this your device will boot faster and never touches wifi until you plug in a dongle.
I particularly want to stop any un-required processes in the system so that Linux is only doing what is absolutely necessary and no more
If you do not need:
- AirPlay
- Spotify
- UPnP / DLNA
then disable them on the settings page.
Disabling HDMI can be done by:
/opt/vc/bin/tvservice -o
You also can disable time synchronisation:
systemctl disable ntpd
EDIT:If you are using NFS mounts, then do not disable ntpd.
For disabling usb i have no idea how to do this.
