Hi fongalv,
Btw, is there any recommended buffer size for the Rpi2 to get optimal performance?
The default is 2048, large enough for nearly 12 seconds of CD-quality audio.
Before editing your post you asked:
I'm currently getting some occasional drops on dsd64, have a dsd128 test track and it basically had more drops than actual music...the entire system also became very laggy, which I'm assuming is because of the RPIs lack of horsepower.
If your usb dac doesn't support DSD mpd has convert the file to pcm (see
here)
With the current configuration mpd uses an internal resampler.
I made some tests with soxr as resampler and it turns out as good alternative.
If you like to try it type this on your console:
redis-cli hset mpdconf samplerate_converter "soxr very high"
To handle DSD128 we have to use a lower quality:
redis-cli hset mpdconf samplerate_converter "soxr high"
To get back to the standard configuration use:
redis-cli hdel mpdconf samplerate_converter
Always reboot after changing the settings.
