Hi vtudini,
is there a way to tweak the OS settings so that it scans the available networks and tries to connect to the first available one?
We have to differentiate at this point, because it depends on the used device and / or the software version.
a)
- All the newer images (like RP2, Cubietruck and ODROID C1) behave exactly this way.
- If you have a RP with v0.3-beta (29/10/2014) updated to the
nightly builds it also should work like this.
b)
- All other have a different wifi implementation.
to a)
You can set up as much wifi profiles as you like. The system tries to connect to the first available AP.
After that the profiles are started/stopped automatically as you move from the range of one network into the range of another network (roaming).
You can use Priority= in the WPAConfigSection in your profile to set priority of it when multiple wireless access points are available. This feature is not implemented in the ui yet and has to be set by edeting the profile by hand.
to b)
We have to ask the developer.
