cifs error 13

Spent a while (next to an hour) now, digging this forum to get an idea about the cifs error 13 and how to solve it.

If not all my other devices let it be windows, android, linux sat receivers would suffer the same I would assume a network problem, but since all these work like a charm and only the pi3 with runeaudio fails I wonder where to look now to get this solved.

pi3 + latest runeos in combination with my syno nas with CIFS enabled doesn't work.

Believe me, it is not a Rune issue.

Please post all the settings from the sources page, like:
- source name:
- fileshare protocol:
- ip:
- remote directory:
- guest access:
advanced options:
-mount flags:

and yes I also believe it's not a runeaudio issue since it it would runeaudio wouldn't have made it beyond a 0.0001 alpha version.
Compared some solutions in between trying to get this fixed. max2play, volumio .... well not the ones which suit my eyes. I do like rune if only I could get this fancy cifs thing going.

proto: smb/cifs and smb/cifs(OS X share, tried both of them)
ip: 192.168.1.5

volume1/music/ tried all of them .. makes no difference at all
guest: no guest, admin + pw used
mount flags: the predefined ones
cache=none,ro
and I tried a couple of others I found in various posts in here like sec=ntlmssp and so on

x-checked if the NAS does share anything at all using
smbclient -L 192.168.1.5 --user=admin
on the pi with rune

result is like this:
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Windows 6.1] Server=[Samba 4.4.16]
Sharename Type Comment
--------- ---- -------
music Disk System default shared folder
[ ... ]
plus more shares. And since --user=admin with the requirement to enter the admin's pw afterwords does work on the smbclient command I think that I had no typo for user & pw in the rune gui when being asked.
