Adding tracks to SD card

Can I play music that is stored on the Raspberry Pi SD card? I happen to have a 16gig SD card and I want to fill it with Flac files.
Is this possible?

Hi Jim,

read this first.

You can do this:
- resize your image to fit the sd card
- add your files to /mnt/MPD/LocalStorage

or

- make a new partition on your sd card
- save your files there
- mount this partition with /etc/fstab on /mnt/MPD/LocalStorage
