Getting Hifiberry Amp+ Working on Pi2

Postby dagsix » 21 Mar 2015, 01:12

Hello,

I was so impressed with RuneAudio that I decided to upgrade the sound on my Pi2 with HiFiBerry's Amp+.

I've read a few threads about the HifiBerry DAC+ and the AMP+ seems to have similar (the same?) issues.

Volume is *stuck* and 100 and nothing plays. But that is secondary to getting it to play at all.

Are the steps to get it functional the same as Amp for Pi A/B? Specifically:
http://www.runeaudio.com/forum/hifiberry-amp-t545.html

Any direction on this (or confirming to follow the above) would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you edit the configuration "/boot/config.txt" as described here and here?

Using software volume, it works fine.

It seems hardware volume offers no control - which is the expected result I guess? The comment said hardware sound would offer improved sound... it just blasted when I switched it. The numbers move but it doesn't seem to impact the volume so I've switched it back to software sound.

It is really loud... with volume at around 20 it is loud enough for a small room.
