Cased Rune Audio System

Hiya

Loving Rune Audio on the RPi and got myself a nice system built. Case is quite 'uniform' and nothing overly special but, for me, it works and is an ideal companion to my Denon RCD-M35 Mini System here.

Hardware: Raspberry Pi2 with latest Rune Audio running.

DAC: HifiBerry DAC + outputting to 2 x Phono sockets.

Display: HD44780 with LCD2USB and LCDproc to display 'Artist/Elapsed' and 'Title' on seperate lines.

Storage: Samsung S2 Portable 500Gb USB drive.

Power Supply: Standard 'RPi' type that's working fine (no noticeable noise!)

All in all, a nice tidy system that suits my small lounge and sounds great :D

Hiya Rastus - it was from eBay, as were all of the interconnects inside too and the HD44780 display. Project hasn't cost me a lot to do.

Rather that post a link, search for "198x188x70MM Large Project Box Plastic Case" - it's polystyrene but easily workable though I had my cutting done on a laser cutter at work. Case is available in Light Grey or Black and I chose the ventilated version.

It looks good and meets with approval here at home too. :D

Leigh....

Thanks janui - it's actually quite plain and not overly attractive but the player isn't part of a showcase system nor does it feed a huge hifi system.

It does what it does - play good music well.
