Hi max2014, of course it's possible. We are focusing on ARM platforms as they attend to our our initial requirements (cheap, small, low consumption and fanless), but the system could be extended on any platform capable of running Linux.
We are planning to publish a sort of "cookbook" after the 0.3-beta release, you will find all the config files and the generic install script in the repo. We are also going to publish a developers VM that, in fact, is based on x86.

Any contribution for a stable x86 porting is welcome.

Not yet, we are going to publish it together with the next release.

Any news on this? An X86 build would be very useful. Thanks

Greetings, all. I'm new here, and new to RuneAudio, but I have it up and running on my RasPi 4B, and I absolutely LOVE IT. Seriously, I'm a major audiophile and have been building out my digital library for over 25 years, and of all the music players/managers I've ever tried, this is a serious contender for the title of "Very Best".

That said, I'd ideally like to be able to use RuneAudio as my primary music system throughout my entire home. There are two possibilities that I can think of to achieve this-- a) install it natively on x86/x64 hardware, or b) set up a virtual machine that I can then clone and have on each of my computers. I've seen some mentions of a VM that is in development or in a beta phase... is this something that I can get? It's ok if it's not 100%, I can probably fix a number of subsequent issues that might arise.

Thanks!
