What am I doing wrong!!!!

Postby WalterG » 13 Feb 2021, 15:52

I tried writing an micro SD card for three times now, also on different cards, and my Raspberry doesn't do anything!!
I'm using Balena Etcher and USB Image Tool, both with no success.
Doing the same with moOde and Volumio and they both work.

Maybe you could tell us what version of Rune you are trying to write? And which Raspberry Pi?

I started using the imaging software after having issues with some other ones. I believe etcher was 1 of the items giving me problems when it came to blasting images to the sd card. I'd say try the raspberry tool and see if that give you a different result

Do the LEDs on the RPi indicate it has booted from the SD card (steady red, occasional green flashes)? If so next step is to connect with a browser to complete setup. Query your router to find the ip address. Until WiFi is setup best to connect RPi with ethernet cable. My advice is to use most up to date and well maintained version found here - https://github.com/rern/rAudio-1

Red and green LED's are lit but the network port doesn't show activity. If I connect a monitor via HDMI I see a colourful square thats all.
I can not connect to it via wired or wireless network.

This means your Raspberry Pi is not getting enough power.

It is powered by a 5V/2,5A iFi wallwart. I don't have problems with either moOde or Volumio.
I just tried it with an Allo 5V/3A wallwart and had the same result.
Replaced the card with one that has moOde on it and I can see the whole boot sequence on my monitor.
