i have both the 7" IPS and the 10.1" (1024*600).
I would go with the IPS display because of the better viewing angle and brilliant display.

Thanks for the advice Frank - I'll definately get the 7" if there is that much of a difference. Saves me money too!

Just curious, what is the 7" version like in regards to mounting on a panel? I see it has the mounting holes but I'm a bit wary about the cables coming out of the side of the unit, would they be under or over a panel?
Cheers!

Thanks, but I've seen the link of the manufacturer
Unfortunately they show no photos from the side

Thanks for the pic -does the screen come with a bezel to cover the screw holes on the front?

Looks good, thanks. I should be able to screw that into wood from the rear and then put a veneer over the front to cover the screen border

Edit ; 21/04/16 - Just ordered my screen from DX.com. Do you guys run the screen direct from the pi, ie does the pi put out enough power via usb?

OK So I got my screen up and running, but there is a line on the left hand side which I dont think should be there. It appears in all video modes.
Anyone got any ideas? Its almost like the image is shifted one pixel to the right and the line down the left is undefined

Edit - I see frank's screen has the same issue, Im wondering if this is a software issue or a design issue.

Edit 2 - I find the 7" too small for accurate navigation at this stage - have modified the local.css file but still needs a bit of tweaking (details in another thread). Would be very cool if we could get a skinnable UI framework.

Caution to anyone thinking of buying one of these
My screen's now developed lines across the screen which isn't caused by the pi. Also, in the handful of times I've used it, the rune UI controls have burnt into the screen (even though I implemented the 5 minute screensaver).

Going to have to re-think this screen deal.

Hi Dohmar

I'd consider contacting the seller, as you may have a sub standard part.

I've got the exact same screen, and it's been powered up on Rune, no screensaver, for 3 weeks now, with no burn-in and no lines.
